JACKSONVILLE - Mary Catherine Pierce, 60, lovingly known as Kathy, passed away on June 16, 2025, at the age of 60. Services will be held later in summer in both North Carolina and Florida. Dates will be announced later.

Born and raised in Kentucky, Kathy was a spirited soul who found joy in the music she loved and pride in her roots – especially during the Kentucky Derby season, which she looked forward to every year. Kathy worked at Publix. She loved jazz and rock, especially her favorite band, Shinedown.

She was a proud mother of three daughters – Erika, Meilin, and Jennifer and a grandmother to eight cherished grandchildren. Kathy was the youngest of five siblings, and is preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Charles Frank.

She carried with her the strength and reflection found in the Serenity Prayer: "God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference."

While no formal services will be held, we invite friends and loved ones to honor Kathy in their own way – through music, memories, or moments of quiet reflection.
