Matthew Mark Parrish, Jr., 22 years old, went home to our Lord August 26, 2023. Waiting for him at those pearly gates were his father, Matthew M. Parrish, Sr. and his faithful furry companion, Lacy. Both were surprised but happy to see his handsome face again. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 6:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville, NC.

We know Matthew greeted them both with his amazing smile and a hilarious one-liner; like always.

Matthew loved to make people laugh and did so frequently for more than three years at Burger King.

In his free time, Matthew enjoyed playing Magic: The Gathering, long distance gaming with his cousins, riding his bike or ripstick, and playing with pets.

His earthly passing is leaving a gaping hole in his mother's (Ronne L. Parrish) and sister's (Alexi L. Parrish) hearts.

He was preceded in death by his father, Matthew M. Parrish, Sr., maternal grandparents Albert L. and Judy L. Larson, paternal Aunt Yvette Thompson, and his beloved dog Lacy.

He is lovingly remembered by his mother, sister, nephew, paternal grandparents, Michael Parrish, Sr. and Louise Parrish of St. Claire Shores, MI, Aunts Vicky Dommer, Robin Bowling, Rebecca Cylc, Uncle Steve Cylc and Michael Parrish, Jr. several cousins and extended family members, and the 2019 graduating class of White Oak High School.
