MGySgt. Robert James Dunn, 91, of Hubert, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Carolina East Medical Center, New Bern.
Visitation will be Monday evening, May 26, 2014 from 6pm till 8pm at Jones Funeral Home, Swansboro.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, May 27, 2014, 10:30am at St. Mildred Catholic Church with Father Don Baribeau officiating. Burial will follow with military honors by the United States Marion Corps at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville.
MGySgt. Dunn retired from the United States Marine Corps with over 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Merle Byers Dunn and his parents, Robert P. Dunn and Marie T. McCauley Dunn.
MGySgt. Dunn is survived by two sons, Mike Dunn and his wife Tammy of Hubert, Robert Dunn and wife, Sharon of Moyock, NC; a daughter, Suzan Drewyor and husband, Joe of New Bern; two brothers, George Dunn and Jimmy Dunn both of Boston, Mass.; a sister, Rita Farner of France; two grandchildren, Samantha Dunn of Charlotte, NC and Andrew Dunn of Jacksonville, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mildred Catholiic Church, 616 E. Sabiston Drive, Swansboro, NC 28584-9674.
