JACKSONVILLE - Michael James Bradley of Jacksonville, 64, of Jacksonville, passed away unexpectedly at home and entered eternal rest Thursday, November 21, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Monday, December 2, 2024 at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel. Burial will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
Mr. Bradley is survived by his beautiful wife of 43 years, Tina Bradley; five children, Christopher Webster of Jacksonville, NC, Sharisse Taylor (spouse Sammie Taylor) of Plano, TX, Erika Bradley of Davenport, FL, Michael AJ Bradley (spouse Angeline Bradley) of Jacksonville, NC, and Roxanne Bradley of Jacksonville, NC; seven grandchildren: Kieran Webster, Briyana Stewart, McKenna Myers, Cayden Hocker, Sammie Taylor Jr., Justice Bradley, and Jordan Bradley; three great-grandchildren: Noah Adcock-Webster, Jordan Marie Adcock-Webster, and Kadrean Michael Webster; his father Eddie Bradley of Fredericksburg, VA; father in law John Webster of Jacksonville, NC; his siblings: Harvey Bradley (spouse Tovia Bradley), Jimmy Bradley (spouse Melissa Bradley), Julius Bradley, Cynthia Bradley, and Richard Bradley (spouse Jennifer Bradley) ; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mike (Chicken Man) was born and raised in Jacksonville, where he graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1979. A proud Marine in the United States Marine Corps from 1979-1987. He became one of the only certified Asbestos Supervisors in the state of NC for which he worked in the industry for 35 years.
To anyone who really knew him, knew he was the hardest working man around and always made sure everyone was taken care of at all times. When he decided to kick back and relax for a bit, Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, watching UNC Tarheels Basketball, Dallas Cowboys football, and all things 'Three Stooges'. Known to all of his grandkids as "Poohpa" he made sure those babies were spoiled to the max and anytime they wanted a sleepover or a snack they knew who to run to. He was also known to give the best advice during the tough times, as well as provide us with some of the greatest "Mike Bradley Anecdotes" that would have you crying from laughing so hard.
If you have learned anything from the greatest husband/father/Poohpa/brother/uncle/friend/boss/hero that ever graced our lives is that you have to love your people when they are around. And one thing that is for certain, he was truly loved by everyone that he ever met and left a lasting impression on so many lives.
Mike is preceded in death by his Grandmothers Margaret Spencer and Grace Francois, Mother Isabelle Bradley, Sister Cathy Bradley, Mother-in-Law Joyce Webster, Brother-in-Law John James Webster II, Sisters in Law Terry Webster and Karen Bradley, and Nephew Eddie-Allen Bradley.
He will be truly missed but just know that we will meet again in Heaven.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Jones Funeral Home of Jacksonville.
