DeMarco
Sep 25, 1961 — Jun 13, 2026
Michael Anthony DeMarco, 64, of Jacksonville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026. Memorial service information will be announced at a later date.
Michael was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, and respected journeyman electrician with Latham Electric. He took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic, dedication, and expertise in his trade. Those who worked alongside him knew him as someone who was dependable, knowledgeable, and always willing to lend a helping hand.
Michael was the beloved husband of Jeanne May DeMarco. He was a loving father to Michael DeMarco, Ashley DeMarco, Melissa DeMarco, and Dana May Vanfonda. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christina DeMarco, whom he loved dearly and whose memory remained close to his heart.
Michael was a proud and loving grandfather to Savanna Marie VanFonda, Joseph Edward VanFonda III, Francesca Tinney, Andrea Hanvey, Miley Marie DeMarco, Joan Christina DeMarco, Stevie Moon DeMarco, and Wyatt Folkomer. His grandchildren brought him immense joy, and he treasured every opportunity to spend time with them.
He is also survived by his loving siblings, Carol DeMarco Pannulla, Mary DeMarco Bonthron, and Joseph DeMarco, along with many extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
Outside of work, Michael found joy in both fresh and saltwater fishing. Whether casting a line on a quiet morning or sharing stories with family and friends, he cherished the simple pleasures of life. He adored his dogs and treasured every moment spent with those he loved.
Michael will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends. He had a way of making others feel welcome and valued, and his quiet strength and compassion left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Though he will be deeply missed, Michael’s legacy lives on through the family he loved, the friendships he nurtured, and the countless lives he touched with his kindness. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who knew Michael honor his memory by spending time with loved ones, extending kindness to others, and enjoying the outdoors as he so often did.
Forever loved, forever remembered.
