Jacksonville – Michael Joseph Dugan Jr., 96, passed away at his home on the morning of Saturday, September 12, 2026, with his family by his side.

A funeral mass for Michael will be performed day, September 24, at 11:00am at the Infant of Prague Catholic Church in Jacksonville with military honors immediately following the service.

Michael was born and raised in Bronx, NY. He honorably served in the United States Marine Corps for 30 years. He served in China, Korea and completed two tours in Vietnam before retiring at the rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant. He was known as a China Marine. He was the last owner of the plank Regiment of retired dinosaurs. He was also a lifetime member of the tanker’s association and was with the second and third tank battalion.

While in the service he met and married the love of his life, Michiko...When his health allowed, Michael was a faithful and active member of Infant of Prague Catholic Church.

Michael was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Michiko T. Dugan; parents, Alice and Michael Dugan Sr.; brother, James Dugan; sisters, Emily “Nancy” Hamchuk, Delores Reilly, and Alice Duganl and daughter-in-law, Valerie Dugan.

Michael is survived by his children, Michael J. Dugan III (Linda) of Lindoton, Alice D. Anderson (David) of Jacksonville, Delores Eastwood of Texas, James J. Dugan of Charlotte, Joseph F. Dugan of Jacksonville, and Jeffrey J. Dugan of Jacksonville; 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, many loving nieces and nephews; and his loyal dog, Luna.

He will be loved and dearly missed by many family and friends.
