Michael James Karl, 58 of Swansboro, North Carolina, passed away suddenly last Thursday, June 25th, 2026. Michael was born in Oregon City, Oregon. Those left behind to cherish his memories, include his loving wife, Cindy of 33 years, his sons Chris, (Kendra) and Nick. His grandchildren, Chloe, Kaylee, and Elliot Michael Karl. His mother, Sherri Karl and his sister Mary (Bill) Parietti. Mother-in-law Ellie Floyd. Brothers-in-law Boyce (Kay), Steve (Heather), and Jody Floyd. Nieces Isabella and Liliana Parietti, Jordan, Miller, Mattie and Mollie Floyd. Nephews Brandon (Marie), Blake, Steven, and Kellum Floyd, and numerous beloved family members.

Michael served in the US Marine Corps. He served the veterans of NC also as a Carteret County sheriff’s deputy. Mike was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and the best grandpa there was! He was known for his kindness and love for his family, friends, and music.

Michael was preceded in death by his father Charles Karl.

The family will accept friends at Jones Funeral Home in Swansboro, Monday, July 6 from 6 to 8 PM. The funeral will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM at One Harbor Church in Swansboro, followed by a burial at Seaside Memorial Park.
