SNEADS FERRY - Michael Anthony Riccio, 50, of Sneads Ferry, passed away Monday, September 14, 2026, at his home. There will be a Celebration of Michael’s Life at 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Jones Funeral Home, Holly Ridge Chapel. The rendering of military honors will immediately follow. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 PM, at the funeral home.

In March of 2004, willing to make the ultimate sacrifice, Michael answered the call to serve. He enrolled in the Delayed Entry Program and departed for Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California. Michael eventually earned the rank of Master Sergeant and received several personal awards and insignia including the Bronze Star Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Master Explosive Ordnance Disposal Badge, and the Navy and Marine Corps Parachutist Insignia.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Carrie Riccio; two sons, Eden and Hudson Riccio; and his daughter, Olivia Riccio.
