JACKSONVILLE  -  Michael James Taylor, 72, of Jacksonville passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024 at his home.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel.

Mr. Taylor grew up in Onslow County and graduated from Jacksonville High School. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and proudly served for 18 ½ years including his time served during the Vietnam War. Upon his return to civilian life, Mike pursued a career in retail.

He was born in Jacksonville, NC on November 21, 1951 to the late Pansy and Acey Taylor, Sr.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Pansy Suchminski and step-father, Stanley Suchminski; father, Acey Taylor Sr.; son, Michael James Taylor Jr.; and brother, David Pratt.

Survivors include his son, Robert "Bobby" Taylor (wife Dahlia); granddaughter, Leilani, and mother of his son, Jocelyn Ortiz of Little River, SC; daughter, Kristen Calhoun (husband Cole); grandchildren, Hadley, Nicholas, Savannah, and Chloe, and mother of his daughter, Kathy Rafferty, all of Jacksonville, NC; brother, Acey Taylor Jr. (wife Diane) of Myrtle Beach, SC; sisters, Carol Brannock (husband Emmett) and Ann Marks (husband Gerald) of Jacksonville, NC; and many loving nieces and nephews.
