Obituary

Stella- Mima Angelina Acosta Lebron, 78, passed away September 5, 2025, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington surrounded by her loved ones. She was welcomed home by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and reunited with her mother and best friend Mama Milagros Acosta.

She was born July 23, 1947, in the Bronx, New York. Daughter of the late Milagros Acosta and the late Luis Angel Acosta of the Bronx, New York.

Angelina was a legal secretary by trade, but her greatest enjoyment in life was cooking to feed her family and friends. In some circles she was known as the Lotus flower, her food would put you in a coma and you would never want to leave.

She is survived by her three children, Millie Cardona of Jacksonville, Sindy Lebron-Melendez and her son-in law Hernan Melendez of Jacksonville, and Alex Lebron and his spouse Karla of TX; eight cherished grandchildren, Ricky, Angie, Nicky, Baby, Sami, Ben, Rosie, and Alexandria; ten adorable great grandchildren, Christopher, Dahlia, Amelia, Leo, Lawrence Robert, Colten, Paislee, Zach, Elijah, and Everleigh; and a brother, Angelo Acosta of New York.

We will be celebrating her Life on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 12:00pm in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home-Swansboro. Burial will follow at Seaside Memorial Park. Family and friends are welcome to come pay their final respects one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mima will be deeply missed by all who knew & loved her. Her legacy will live on thru us all
