Hubert- Myra Fiorey McGonigle, 67 of Hubert, passed away peacefully with her family by her side Tuesday, December 16th, 2025, at -the Cottages of Swansboro.

A memorial service to celebrate Myra's life will be held on January 6th, 2026, at 2:00p.m. at Swansboro United Methodist Church.   Rev. Laura Thompson will officiate the service for friends and family.

Myra was a selfless and caring person, always putting others first and helping in any way possible. She was especially proud of her work with the Mocksville Women's Club, and her role in establishing the Godbey Creek Canine Rescue in Davie County.

A gifted artist, Myra shared her talents generously.   She taught decorative painting to both adults and children. Later in life she focused on embroidery and quilting.  Her hallmark was creating heartfelt gifts- whether a handmade card, a quilt for a newborn, or a hand- painted Nutcracker- each crafted with love and care for someone she cherished.

Myra was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy King.

Myra is survived by her husband of 36 years, David McGonigle Sr.; her son, Kyle (LeAnn) Mastropasqua, and her beloved grandson, Barrett, all of Hubert; and her brothers Peter (Ramona) Fiorey of Virginia and Robert (Lesile) Fiorey of Florida; as well as two nieces Erin Faber (Fiorey) and husband Michael and Nicole and husband Shaun Egan.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Mocksville Women's Club or Swansboro United Methodist Church.
