Obituary

Nancy Carolyn Yancey went to her eternal home in Heaven on Sunday, June 14, 2026. She passed peacefully after a long illness, surrounded by the love of her family.

Nancy was born on November 9, 1942 in Onslow County NC. She grew up on a farm in the community of Loco near Maysville NC. Her parents, Emmett and Thelma Collins gave her an incredible foundation that she lived her life by: Hard work, dedication and perseverance. Throughout her life, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness, strength, and unwavering love touched all who knew her.

For more than sixty years, Nancy shared a remarkable marriage with her beloved husband, Harvey Brann Yancey, Sr. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and service to others. As co-owner and partner in Harvey B. Yancey Trucking Company, she worked alongside her husband to build and sustain a successful family business for many decades.

Nancy's greatest joy was her family. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who never missed an opportunity to support, encourage, and care for those she loved. Her home was always a place of comfort, warmth, and welcome. She possessed a gentle spirit, a generous heart, and a steadfast faith that guided her throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harvey Brann Yancey, Sr., as well as her parents and other cherished family members who welcomed her into Heaven.

She leaves behind her brother, Crawford Collins and his wife, Susan Collins, two sons, Harvey Brann Yancey, Jr. and his wife, Vivian Willoughby Yancey, and their twins, Cooper and Willow Yancey; and Richard Wayne Yancey and his wife, Tonya Foster Yancey, and their daughters, Ellie and Brooke Yancey. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, Debbie Jones, Mary Rhodes, Cindy Wilson, Tammy Putz, Patsy Wiley, Mamie Harris, Angie Bender, Carlton Yancey, Randy Jones and Corinna Baldwin.

Also, we want to recognize the care givers that were instrumental in Nancy’s care over the past 9 months: Denisse, Myiecha, Mearhi and Kim.

Nancy's legacy of love, faith, devotion, and kindness will continue to live on through the family she treasured so deeply. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
