SNEADS FERRY  -  Nellie Irene Norman Yopp, 74, of Sneads Ferry, North Carolina, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 6, 2026.

Born in Marathon, Florida, Nellie lived a life defined by faith, service, and love for others. She dedicated much of her career to working in libraries, where she shared her passion for reading and lifelong learning. She also generously volunteered with Master's Touch and faithfully served her church family at North Topsail Shores Baptist Church.

Nellie found great joy in gardening, reading, and serving her community. Her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering faith touched the lives of many. She will be remembered for her compassion, generosity, and devotion to her family and friends.

Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Meredith Norman; her beloved husband, Robert J. Yopp; and her sisters, Barbara, Jenny, and Paula.

She is survived by her daughter, Spring Renaie Yopp; her son, Daniel Niles Yopp and his wife, Autumn; her grandchildren, Samuel Pendell and Dillon Yopp; and her step-grandchildren, Corky and Alissa.

She is also survived by her siblings, Brenda Midgette, Phyllis Lupton, Ken Norman, Paul Norman, Joe Norman, David Norman, Betty Edens, Patty Thompson, Terry Millis, Mary Jo Brown, and Janna Norman Goodyear.

A celebration of Nellie's life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 10:00 AM at North Topsail Shores Baptist Church.

Nellie leaves behind a legacy of faith, service, kindness, and love. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, church family, and all who were blessed to know her. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved and served throughout her life.
