BEAR CREEK - Nolan Divine Midgette, 79, of the Bear Creek Community, passed away Friday, June 26, 2026, at Onslow Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Bear Creek with Rev.  George Speake officiating.  Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

After honorably serving in the United States Coast Guard, Mr. Midgette continued to work as a phone installer with Sprint. He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Karen Midgette; parents, Robert Midgette and Swannie Yeomans Midgette; and two brothers, Robert and Harold.

Survivors include his daughter, Bonnie Swain (Eric) of Kitty Hawk; his son, Timmy Midgette (Cindy) of Swansboro; for grandchildren, Abigail Anderson (Mickey) of Hubert, Avry Midgette of Swansboro, Cali Day (Caleb) of Benson, Sara Sweeting of Maysville; three great-grandchildren, Cale, Micah and Charlotte; two sisters, Martha Ward Starling and Becky Hardin (Tommy) of Hubert; his longtime partner, Juanita Hewitt of the home, along with her son, Bryant Coleman; and granddaughter, Dylan Coleman of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, June 28, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home, Swansboro Chapel.
