Obituary

William Norman Hobbs, 94, of Sneads Ferry, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at his home.

Born on June 13, 1922 in Onslow County, he was a son of the late Capius Levi and Mary Hardison Hobbs. He was a World War II Veteran of the US Army, having served from 1943 to 1946.

Surviving are his daughter, Norma Yopp and husband Earl; a son, Earl Hobbs and wife Wanda; four grandchildren, Kim Leach and husband Gary, Lesley James and husband Stephen, Toni Hobbs, Vickie Davis and husband Jody; and five great-grandchildren, Maison Leach and wife Whitney, Clayton James, Ethan Vitek, Hannah Davis, and Daniel Davis. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Josephine Shepard Hobbs; brother, Linwood Hobbs; and five sisters, Luna Parker, Iva Lee Duff, Thelma Parker, Gracie Tyndall, and Mary Parker.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 pm until 5 pm at Jones Funeral Home, Holly Ridge.

A graveside service, with Military Honors, will be 10 am Monday at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with Gary Leach officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Onslow Senior Services; 4024 Richlands Highway; Jacksonville, NC 28540.
