Obituary

Norman Paul Necaise Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, surrounded by those he loved. Born on October 30, 1945, in New Orleans, Louisiana, he lived a full and meaningful life and was 80 years old.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation and funeral service on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home, 207 N. Dyson Street, Holly Ridge, NC 28445.

Norman was born to Ralph Necaise Sr. and Elizabeth Necaise. He graduated from St. Francisville High School in 1967. A hardworking man who loved working with his hands, Norman found joy in gardening, building furniture, carpentry, and mechanical work. He was happiest when he was busy and creating something with his own hands.

He was an avid fan of LSU football, NFL football, NASCAR racing, basketball, old Westerns, and war movies. Above all else, Norman cherished spending time with his family. Whether talking, laughing, or simply sitting together in silence, being with those he loved brought him the greatest happiness. Those who knew him will always remember one of his favorite sayings: "All it takes is common sense," especially when someone did something that made him question their judgment.

Norman is survived by his devoted wife, Cora Necaise; his daughters, Victoria Nelms and her husband, Larry Nelms, along with their children, Jesse, Elizabeth, and Cora Nelms; Patricia Banks and her husband, Carl Banks, along with their daughters, Alyssa and Serena Banks; and Rebecca Jeffries and her husband, Casey Jeffries, along with their daughter, Alaina Jeffries.

He is also survived by his brother, Gary Necaise, and his sisters, Maureen Stuckey, Athena Capello, Theresa Kling, Belinda Madanat, and Nadine Harvey.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Norman Paul Necaise Jr. and Jason Necaise; his parents, Ralph Necaise Sr. and Elizabeth Necaise; his brothers, Harold Necaise, Dennis Necaise, and Ralph Necaise Jr.; and his sisters, Rachel, Betty Jo, and Rose.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to The Assistance Fund (TAF) in Orlando, Florida, in Norman's memory.

Norman will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His hard work, quiet strength, unwavering love for his family, and memorable sense of humor will forever remain in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.
