Obituary

Pamela Joy Burns Musgrove, "Pam, Pammy" 56, born April 18, 1956, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully, with her bible by her side, from complications of pneumonia on December 10, 2012. She was a resident of Jacksonville, North Carolina. Pam was born in Stoneham, Massachusetts to the late Elizabeth (Betty) Burns and John Burns. She had a zest for life from the get go.
Pam grew up in Tewksbury, Massachusetts and attended Tewksbury Schools. In High School she joined the gymnastics program when there were only boys on the team. There was not a girls program available.
As a youth she worshipped at North Reading Baptist Church for eighteen years.
Pam graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School in 1974. From there she attended and graduated with an Associates degree from Middlesex Community College in 1977. In 1978 she joined the United States Army. While in the military Pamela received various medals for her exemplary service and attained the rank of Sergeant. She was stationed for two years in Germany and two years in Barstow, California where she met her husband.
In 1982 she married Terrance Musgrove and moved to Mainz, Germany for five years. While there she loved acting in plays and being a part of the theatre. She also loved sports and was very active for years on the softball team, winning two championships. She traveled throughout Europe. Her wonderful daughter Amanda was born in 1986 in Wiesbaden, West Germany.
In 1987 after leaving Germany they moved to Fort Polk, Louisiana. There Pam graduated with honors from Northwestern University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. While pursuing her degree she worked as a Photographer and Journalist. Her wonderful son Christopher was born in Fort Polk, Louisiana in 1989. In 1990 she moved back to Tewksbury, Massachusetts for two years and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. In 1991 she moved to Fort Carson, Colorado where she started work on her Master's degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado. Pam loved to ski and had many great times skiing at Vail, Breckinridge, Keystone, and Copper Mountains. She loved hiking and outdoor photography.
In 1997 they moved to Fort Bragg, North Carolina. From 1999 on she worked as a licensed therapist there, She earned many certificates and licenses over the years. She loved working as a therapist.
Through the years Pam had a passion for photography. She always carried her camera and loved taking pictures at parties. She enjoyed making calenders with the photos and giving them as gifts. Her family depended on her to be the family photography. She enjoyed many other crafts as well, sewing and needlepoint to name a few.
Her children and grandson Matty were the highlight of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her ex-husband, Terrance Musgrove of Raeford, NC and daughter, Amanda Musgrove-Currie of Raeford, NC., her son, Christopher recently back from being stationed in Hawaii for the last five years, with a year in Afghanistan and Iraq, her grandson, Matty, a sister, Deb Theodorou of Tewsbury, MA, brother, John Burns of Ridgefield, CT, and sister Carolyn Burns-Fortin of Swansboro, NC.
She was a very loving and caring person who always thought of others, Her family loved her very much, Pam will be missed greatly!
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm Sunday evening at Jones Funeral Home, Swansboro.
A Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am Monday morning at Piney Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Sandy Bain officiating.
Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Funeral Service: 11:00 am Monday morning, Dec. 17, 2012 at Piney Grove Baptist Church.
