Pamela Elizabeth Turner Whaley, 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at her home surrounded by family after her battle with Leukemia. She was a devout Christian, dedicated wife, loving Mama, but the title she loved most was “Pamma”. She spent years serving in missions at Catherine Lake Baptist Church where she also sang in the choir, and served as VBS director for over 25 years. While being a homemaker she also ran her own private house cleaning service for over 35 years. In retirement she volunteered at Richlands Community Outreach Ministry.
She felt that her best accomplishments aside of serving her Lord was raising her girls who she stated multiple times were her world. She was especially known for her cooking, baking, and being the best nurse to her children and grandchildren.
She was a devoted Pamma who never missed an event and was very active in their lives. Her favorite time spent with her grandchildren were Friday night sleepovers. She always loved being surrounded by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Rupert Jackson Turner and Doris Bell, sister; Rebecca Turner and her brother; Terry Turner.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years; Graham Whaley of the home, daughters; Cindy Deaver (Pete), Rebecca Kellum (Sammy) both of Richlands, 3 grandchildren; Jessica Deaver, Joshua Kellum (fiancé- Sarah) both of Richlands, Alyssa Butler (Chandler) of Kinston, 5 great grandchildren; Jacoby, Addyson, Hudson, Erica, Ryder, sisters; Susan Coombs of Kinston, Avie Thompson (Timmy) of Pink Hill and brother; David Turner (Beth) of Emerald Isle. Many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 from 6pm until 8pm at Jones Funeral Home in Richlands. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 10:00 am from Jones Funeral Home in Richlands with Pastor Brick Crowder officiating with burial to follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery at 12 noon in Jacksonville.
