MAYSVILLE  -  Patricia "Ann" Hardee Knowles, 77, of Maysville, passed away Friday, June 20, 2025 at her home.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Swansboro United Methodist Church with Rev. Laura Thompson officiating.

Mrs. Knowles was born October 23, 1947, in Concord, NC to the late Stuart and Betty Wensil Hardee.  She was a graduate of East Carolina University and pursued multiple careers throughout her life. She helped her husband establish Knowles Greenhouses, distributing tropical plants and dish gardens to florists across eastern North Carolina for many years, and she eventually transitioned to be a real estate professional who found great purpose in helping families find the perfect home.

A lifelong learner, Ann continued to pursue professional certifications throughout her life in the fields of real estate, general contracting, and appraisals—always seeking to grow and serve others with excellence and care.

In her later years, she found deep joy in her role as a devoted grandmother affectionately called "Scrammy" by her grandson. Whether cheering from the sidelines at soccer games, applauding at dance recitals, and even riding roller coasters, Scrammy treasured every moment spent with her grandson–her pride and joy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Richard Knowles; sister, Becki Willis; and brother, Joe Hardee.

Survivors include her daughter, Anna Hall (Sanders) of Hubert; grandson, River Hall; sister, Belinda Conway of Clayton; sister-in-law, Rose Pace of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 PM at the church.
