JACKSONVILLE  -  Priscilla Lane Darden Kent (September 30, 1952 - June 16, 2025), 72, of Jacksonville, passed away peacefully at The Laurels of Pender, after declining health.

As the daughter of a Marine, Priscilla spent most of her years in Jacksonville, NC.  Her life as a military dependent took her to Virginia, Florida, South Carolina and North Carolina.  She formed some really great friendships on these military moves.

In 1987, Priscilla was courted by Mike Kent, and they were married in June 1991.  Mike was a picture-perfect partner for Priscilla and was diligent about her care at The Laurels the last seven years.  The staff there often praised him for his role as a loving and dedicated husband.

In the 1990s, Priscilla worked as a Youth Leader at the Youth Center on base, and as a cafeteria worker for Onslow County schools.  She enjoyed various hobbies in her younger days, such as ceramics, cross stitch, and crocheting.  She could also make a great Monkey bread and quiche.  Volunteering at the Infant of Prague Thrift Store was another activity she liked.

Priscilla had a gift for knowing song lyrics by heart, as well as could recite all the birthdates for her large extended family.  She had a unique wit and could make us laugh until our bellies ached.

Priscilla was predeceased by her father and mother, Thomas Darden and Cora Darden.  She is survived by her spouse of 34 years, Michael Kent, sister Barbara Darden Greco, brother 'Tommy' James Thomas Darden, nephew Ryan Darden and wife Caroline, sister Jackie Darden Myers and husband Rodney, and nieces Amelia, Kate and Ainsley. Visitation will be held, Sunday, June 22, from 3-5pm, with a Vigil from 5-6pm, at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville, NC.
A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Tuesday, June 24, at 10am at Infant of Prague Catholic Church in Jacksonville, NC.
