SWANSBORO  -  Reginald Ray Riggs, 76, of Swansboro, passed away Monday, December 16, 2024 at Onslow Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services will be held st 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at One Harbor Church in Swansboro with Corey Riggs officiating. Graveside committal services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 23, 2024 at Seaside Memorial Park.

Mr. Riggs was born May 31, 1948 to the late Leon Riggs and Ethel Heath Riggs Pittman.

He proudly served in the US Coast Guard and enjoyed a long career with family at Waters Ace Hardware until retirement. He was devoted to his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, and faithfully served his family with an unusual vigor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Jimmy Riggs, Jannery Daughtry, Franklin Riggs and Ashley Riggs.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Joan Waters Riggs of the home; son, Corey Riggs (Renee) of Swansboro; grandchildren, Evangel and Haddon Riggs; siblings, Carolyn King of Emerald Isle, Sherrel Riggs of Swansboro, O'Neal Riggs of Morehead City, Ted Riggs of Wilmington, Gene Riggs of Newport, and Travis Riggs of Hubert; his  brother in laws, Carl  Waters and Cliff Waters families  of Swansboro and sister-in-law, Teresa Cooper; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 PM at the church.
