JACKSONVILLE  -  Remona "Mona" Gale Adkins (Price), 64, of Jacksonville, passed away Saturday,  December 14, 2024 at her home.

Mrs. Adkins was born in West Hamlin, WV on September 16, 1960 to Avanelle and Novis Price. She was a proud graduate of the Class of 1978 at Guyan Valley High School in Pleasant View, WV.

Mona married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Lucian Clint Adkins in 1978 and together they had one child, Anita Gale Adkins.  Though, Mona spent the majority of her life as a loving homemaker, she spent several wonderful years working at Sam's Club in Beckley, WV, where she made lifelong friends.  She also was a member of the Army Family Readiness Group, providing support to spouses of military members while her husband was in the Army. Through this group, she became a mentor, sister, and second mom to countless women.

She was preceded in death by her father, Novis Woodrow Price; paternal grandparents, Direl and Pearl Price; maternal grandparents, Matthew and Garnet Baker; and mother-in-law, Susie Ann Neri.

Survivors include her mother, Avanelle Deloris Price; her husband, Lucian Clint Adkins; daughter, Anita Gale Adkins (David Archie); granddaughter, Celina Archie; sister, Vivian Christine Trapp (Timothy Trapp); a niece and nephew; three great-nieces; a great nephew; and a host of friends and family. There are too many people to count that she touched in her life.

Per Mona's wishes, no funeral service will be held at this time. The family will schedule a memorial service at a later date to celebrate her life.
