Reverend Stephen Robert Smith, 56, of Hubert went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014, at 12:00 PM, at the Jacksonville Commons Recreation Center. Chaplains Mike Koonce and Ken Lewis will be officiating. Burial will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors.
Mr. Smith was born in Syracuse, NY and was the son of the late Robert and Janice Bill Smith. He served his country honorably with the
United States Marine Corps and retired with the rank of Staff Sergeant after 20 years of service. He was the National Service Officer for Am Vets.
Surviving are his wife, Tamara Smith Smith of the home; one daughter, Christine Smith-Dolata of Richlands; two sons, Shawn P. Smith of Jacksonville and Stephen K. Smith of High Point; one brother, Andrew Rexroat of Virginia Beach, VA; one sister, Cynthia Baker of Newport News, VA and seven grandchildren.
