Jacksonville – Richard Joseph Fonte, 77, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville with burial to immediately follow at Onslow Memorial Park.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Irene (Grassi) Fonte and a son, Richard "Eric" Fonte.

Rich is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Roessler Fonte; their granddaughters, Victoria Barefoot (Bretton) and Kaitlyn Fonte; brother, Robert Fonte (Carolyn) of Bethel Park, PA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Richard had an illustrious career in medical sales. He met and formed many lasting relationships through the years. He retired from Glaxo Smith Kline in 2002. He was able to enjoy 22 years of retirement in golfing, fishing and personal hobbies. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
