RICHLANDS  -  Ricky Alan Mobley, 65, of Richlands, passed away February 8, 2026 at Onslow Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be held AT 11:00 AM on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Onslow Memorial Park.

Mr. Mobley attended Richlands high school graduating in 1978, after graduation, he attended coastal Carolina Community College in the auto body repair certificate program. Upon completing the program, he worked at several auto body shops, including Joe Cotton's, Butch's body shop and Moore Buick, before opening Rick's paint and body, eventually working as a sole proprietor for the last 30 years.

Ricky was a very talented as both a painter and body repair/restoration; there was no job too big or too small. He designed custom artwork on motorcycle gas tanks; he fabricated wheel wells on a Porsche 911 and mud flaps on a customer's truck when the customer asked for it and they did not exist. If Ricky couldn't find a part or a tool, he would make it!

Ricky had a can-do attitude, and he took pride in his work and made certain that his customers were happy. Ricky loved his children was very proud of them, and of his grandchildren. Ricky had just begun enjoying retirement, growing a garden, planting and propagating trees and tending to chickens when he noticed that he was beginning to tire very easily. Ricky discovered that he had pneumonia and lung cancer in December 2025 and lost his battle a short two months later.

Ricky leaves behind a wife, daughter, son and stepdaughter, 6 (almost 7) grandchildren, his sister, several cousins and his beloved cat.
