Hubert- Robert James Andrews, Sr, (RJ), 95, passed away peacefully Friday, November 3, 2023 at his home with his family by his side. He was born July 6, 1928 in Goldsboro, NC a son of the late Verlinza and Lillie Gertrude Millis Andrews.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home-Swansboro with Rev. Sandy Bain officiating. Burial will follow at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8pm Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

RJ retired as a Safety Manager at Camp Lejeune after a long and distinguished career. He loved to work with his hands and built his home and lots of furniture over the years. He loved to bear hunt, a hobby he shared with family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Deon Andrews of Hubert; grandchildren, Robby James Andrews, RJ Brown and his wife Melissa, Aubrey Schipper and her husband Eddie, and Breann Brown; and great grandchildren, Bradley, Jackson, Christian, and Emory.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Bell Andrews; son, Robert James Andrews, Jr., and his brother and sisters.
