Cape Carteret- Robert Russell (Bob) Snyder, 80, passed away suddenly and peacefully from an unknown heart condition with his loving wife of 53 years and daughter by his side on Friday January 26, 2018 at Carolina East Medical Center. He was born October 31 in North Vernon, IN son of the late, Calvin Snyder and Florence Mae Gerth.
A memorial service will be held Saturday February 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Jones Funeral Home of Swansboro with Rev. Freddie Braswell officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the family home.
Bob was a hardworking, generous, and loving man who retired from Square D after a lifelong career as an engineer. Bob enjoyed country music on his small radio and fishing on the North Carolina shore. When not undertaking a variety of home projects, he could be found enjoying road trips throughout the mountains and the country. Bob had a lifelong love of all creatures great and small, and always made sure they were safe and protected.
He is survived by wife, Sherry Snyder; daughter, Stacey Snyder of Durham; and sister, Norma Smith of Marion, IN.
