Swansboro- Robert Lloyd Hummel, 83, passed away at his home on Sunday, May 24,2026, with his family by his side. He was born November 11,1942 in Easton, PA a son to the late Robert and Jane Harrison Hummel.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Jones Funeral home-Swansboro with chaplain Alex Chapman officiating.

Robert worked for Burhann’s Glass Co. for his entire career until his retirement. After retirement he moved to Swansboro, NC to live out his life with the love of his life, Virginia Ann Hummel. Pop was a family man and a devout Philadelphia Eagles fan! He enjoyed entertaining friends and family. In his younger years he was part of several bands where he was a lead singer and guitarist. His favorite was spending time on his boat with family and friends on the Sassafras River. The memories are too GREAT to count.

He is survived by his children, Adam Hummel of Norwood, PA, Eve Hummel Urick (Phil) of Cary, NC, and Kristin Hummel Thompson (Ray) of Maysville, NC; grandchildren, Corey S. Cesarine, Jordan E. Hummel, Haley C. Urick, Hannah E. Urick, and Aubri N. Withers; and great grandchildren, Kai, Gianna, Eve and Avery.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Virginia Ann Hummel; and brothers, Billy and Eddy Hummel.
