JACKSONVILLE - Robert Eugene Johnson, 70, of Jacksonville, North Carolina died on October 11, 2024, at Onslow Memorial Hospital.

He was born and raised in Terre Haute, Indiana on July 23, 1954 where he graduated from South Vigo High school. He served in the United States Marine Corps for 11 yrs. After which he returned to Terre Haute to pursue a career with the US Justice system working as a correctional office for 20 yrs for the Federal Bureau of Prisons. After retirement he moved to South Carolina to spend time with his daughter and grandchildren. Later, he and his wife returned to Jacksonville where they had met and married when he was in the Marines, to spend time with his wife's family.

Robert is preceded in death by his wife of 40 yrs, Dolly May (Hunt) Johnson, grandson Xavier Ryan Robert, parents, Robert Sylvester and Charlotte Mayola Johnson, and sister, Charlotte Dotterweich.

He is survived by his daughter, Queannah May (Johnson) Robert and husband Patrick, granddaughter Geneviéve Rose Robert and grandson Adrian Renè Robert of Newnan, Georgia, son, Hugh Larson; 4 brothers, 2 sisters and many nieces and nephews.
