Obituary

Robert Kennett beat lung cancer 5 years ago but succumbed to pancreatic cancer and was received by Jesus on June 10, 2026, at his home in Jacksonville, NC.

He was a loving husband to Linda(Kauffman)for more than 60 years. He was also an amazing father to Melissa Kennett Mangindin(husband, Carmelo), Jacksonville, NC and Jennifer Kennett Beamenderfer also of Jacksonville, NC. He was known as PopPop to his 4 grand children. Maya Mangindin Robinson (husband, Kristopher USAF)stationed in Cocoa Beach, FL , Lily Beamenderfer Jenkins (husband, Dylan)Pittsburgh, PA, Carson Mangindin (wife, Delaney McClain)Ferndale, MI, and Bradey Beamenderfer, Brownstown, PA. Also 4 great grandchildren; Raymie and Winslow Robinson, Mia and Oliver Jenkins. He is also survived by his only sibling, Judith Kennett Champlin, Dalton, PA.

Bobby served 2 years in the US Army, 1966-68. He was stationed at Fort Benning, GA, was an Expert shooter and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant. Bobby drove tractor trailers for a few companies finishing his career at Walmart Trucking. He was an exceptional driver, winning many awards for his millions of miles of safe driving and was even awarded as DOT driver of the year for the state of DE, where he lived and worked for 10 years.

He was known as Bobby to his friends. He was a great teacher and encourager of finances and saving money. He also loved jet skiing, motorcycles, and building dune buggies. He was an avid builder of many things including woodworking and wooden planters and giant RC planes that he matstered flying.

After retiring he and Linda enjoyed many cruise vacations and traveling to the beaches of FL and the Caribbean. His daughters remember him as loving and a great provider. He worked hard to make sure we had everything we needed and just a little bit more. He always told his grandchildren, MGD, Make Good Decisions! Each one of them is forging their own, unique, very successful path because of PopPop’s work ethic example and encouragement to MGD. Bobby was EVERYTHING to his family and he will be in our hearts and memories forever. We love you and you will forever be missed.
