GARNER - Rodney Vance Rochelle, 81, passed away at Wake Medical Center - Raleigh on Sunday, June 14, 2026, with his family by his side. He was born October 20, 1944, in Onslow County, a son of the late Norman and Lena Rochelle.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday evening, June 18, 2026 at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel with Rev. Willie Robinson officiating. Graveside committal services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 19, 2026, the Amos-Franklin Rochelle family cemetery.

Rodney was a machinist and worked as a civil servant. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Pat Rochelle, Margaret Meadows, and Kathleen Rochelle.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Jo Ann King Rochelle of the home; children, Nicole Rochelle of Smithfield and Eric Rochelle of Garner; grandson, William Flanagan of Mocksville; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, prior to the service, beginning at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
