Garner- Rodney Vance Rochelle, 81, passed away at Wake Medical Center-Raleigh on Sunday, June 14, 2026, with his family by his side. He was born October 20, 1944, in Onslow County, a son of the late Norman and Lena Rochelle.

A funeral service will be held, Friday, June 19, 2026, at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home-Jacksonville with Rev. Willie Robinson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Amos-Franklin Rochelle family cemetery.

Rodney was a machinist and worked as a civil servant.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jo Ann King Rochelle of the home; children, Nicole Rochelle of Smithfield and Eric Rochelle of Garner; grandson, William Flanagan of Mocksville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Pat Rochelle, Margaret Meadows, and Kathleen Rochelle.
