RICHLANDS- Roger Alan Davis, 57, of Richlands, North Carolina passed away September 26, 2022 at New Hanover Hospital in Wilmington, North Carolina. He was born on June 2, 1965 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, the son of the late Sheldon and Bernadine C. Davis.

Roger graduated from Parkersburg High School with the class of 1983. He joined the United States Marine Corps after graduation in 1983 and retired as a war Veteran in 2003. After serving his county, he served his city as a police officer in Holly Ridge, North Topsail and Richlands, North Carolina, retiring in 2014.

Roger will be remembered as a loving husband and devoted to his children and extended family. He enjoyed family gatherings, camping trips, hunting and spending time with his dog, Gizzy.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 16 years, Vanessa Davis; sons, Matthew Davis, Joey Davis, and Tommy Davis (Jennifer); daughters, Harley Davis, Ashley Eures, Alexus Davis and Paige Griffith; 6 grandchildren; brother, Tom Davis (Becky); sister, Catrina Johnson (David) and several nieces and nephews. He was also a father to Ayden and Papa Davis to Kye.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Donna Sue Wright and Betsy Davis as well as a great-niece Erica Henderson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, October 3, 2022 at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville, NC. Burial will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, prior to the service. Police force, Military and Patriot Guard Riders are assisting the family with the services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jones Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
