MAYSVILLE  -  Ronald John Gonzalez, Sr., 83, of Maysville, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Onslow Memorial Park.

Mr. Gonzales was born April 28, 1941 in Brooklyn NY to the late Ignacio and Marie Antoinette Gonzalez.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Joan H. Gonzalez; five dear children, Anita Renee Gonzalez, Christine Marie Gonzalez, Ronald John Gonzalez Jr (Melinda), Anthony Paul Gonzalez (Sam Hnatiuk), and Linda Ann DiGiovanni (John); two cats, KitKat and Mr. Trouble; a step-dog Hero; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ronald was a postmaster for the city of Jacksonville NC. Ronald was an avid reader and had a large collection of classic movies. He adored celebrating the Fourth of July, especially the fireworks.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, November 7, 2024 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel.  A second visitation will be held Saturday morning, November 9, 2024, prior to the service, from 9:00 until 10:45 AM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Craven County Animal Services Center .
