Hubert- Ronald William Hughes, Sr., 77, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was born July 16, 1946 in Clinton, MA a son of the late Mary Lou Mahon Haskins and the stepfather who raised him LtCol Sidney S. Haskins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Ron served his country in the US Army later owning a successful trucking company and ultimately becoming a skilled carpenter by trade. Ron enjoyed spending his time with family and friends. Throughout his life, Ron had many hobbies and interest ranging from mechanics and engineering to more personal passions such as seamanship, a love for the outdoors, and all things wild. He will be missed.

He is survived by sons, Eric Hughes of Kinston, NC and Adam Hughes of Long Beach, CA; significant other, Marci Brennan of the home; and grandchildren, Dylan and Kristina Hughes.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ron Hughes, Jr., brother, Raymond Hughes, and stepbrother, Steve Haskins.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
