Ronney Victor Jones, of Hampstead NC, passed away peacefully, at the age of Sixty, on Saturday August 27, 2022, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, following diagnosis of a terminal illness.

Ron was born October 11, 1961, in Jacksonville, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lauren Kolodij and their children Carson Kolodij Jones and Emory Gray Jones. He is also survived by his loving parents, LaVerne Jones and Joyce Jones; his sister Robin Ortiz and Wendy Neeley, and their families.

Ron was a beloved father, husband, son, brother, friend, and teacher. He loved all the students he had the pleasure of teaching and staff he worked with during his career at Topsail High School.  Handwritten Thank You Notes from students, over the years, were always kept and treasured.

Ron was especially passionate about robotics and was a proud coach of the THS robotics team.  He enjoyed working with students and fellow Pender County Schools' teachers involved with robotics and took pride in seeing their hard work come to life in competition.

Ron, an avid fisherman, spent time, when not with family or teaching, out on the water.

A Memorial Gathering celebrating Ron will be held on September 2, 2022, at Jones Funeral Home, 207 Dyson Street, Holly Ridge, NC from 4pm to 6pm.
