JACKSONVILLE  -  Ronnie Darrell "Ron" Taylor, 76, of Jacksonville passed away Monday, October 28, 2024, at Camp Lejeune Naval Hospital in Jacksonville. Graveside funeral services, with military honors, will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, November 1, 2024 at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with Pastor Steve Grissom officiating.

Mr. Taylor served in the USMC for 21 years retiring as MSGT with a Purple Heart and Bronze Star following service in Vietnam. He continued to serve our nation's military by becoming the Superintendent of Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetary, where he worked for many years.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Salisbury Taylor; and his parents, Darrell Burnell Taylor and Betty Lou Osborne Taylor.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Luwana "Laura" Taylor of the home; his children, Chris Taylor (Tonya) of Maysville, Rebecca Combs of Jacksonville and Mary Taylor of Raleigh; granddaughter, Christa Taylor Howard (Austin) of Holly Ridge; three sisters, Connie Salisbury (Roger), Carol Legg (Tom), Terrie Shamblin (Russell); and two brothers, Rick Taylor (Caroline) and Robin Taylor (Robin) of West Virginia.
