Obituary

Rose Nell (nee Wallace) Kellum, 87, passed away on Sunday, October 4th, surrounded by her family. Memorial services will be held at Northwoods United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, NC at 12 noon on Friday, October 9, 2026, with a luncheon to immediately follow provided by the Methodist Women. Inurnment will be private.

Born April 23, 1939, in Glen Hayes, WV. to the late Crosby and Eva (Smith) Wallace. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Julia (Wallace) Pfenning, husband Charles Robert Kellum, son Robert Lee Kellum, niece Stacy Pfenning and nephew Thomas Pfenning.

Rose was a proud graduate of Miami University of Ohio.

Rose is survived by her children, Amy Renee Kellum of Waukegan, IL and Ronald William Kellum (Debra Jean Brown-Kellum) of Henderson, NV; Daughter-in-law, June Iuni Fetui-Kellum, Jacksonville, NC; Brother-in-Law, Walt Pfenning, Dayton, OH; Grandchildren, Charles Crosby Kellum, William Robert Fetui Kellum (Ericca Nicole Kellum), Michael Joseph Kellum -Jacksonville NC, Taylor Janelle Kellum of North Las Vegas, NV, John Ross Kellum (Mikaela Christine Caponi-Kellum) Awendaw SC, John William Kellum, Rochester MN, Elizabeth Claire Kellum Dubrovnik, Croatia; 7 beloved great-grandchildren: William Robert Fetui Kellum Jr, Iosefa John Lee Kellum, Uliuli Dominique Brandin Kellum, Caliah June Kellum, Mikaele Anthony Scott Kellum, Sosefina Christine Kellum, Johnny Alfonso Kellum; Niece, Kristina (Tim) Graves, Nephew, Doug ( Antoinette) Pfenning, great-nieces, Kiarah Pfenning, Ka’leigh Graves and great-nephew Jayden Graves.

Rose was a faithful servant to her Lord and her community. She was active with several church ministries. Sincere apologies for any missed groups: Stephen Ministries, Womens Bible Club. Onslow County Arcom, United Methodist Church of Jacksonville, United Methodist Church of Richlands, United Methodist Church of Deerfield.

She attended every sporting event- football, basketball, wrestling, track, cross country, volleyball, ballet and musical performances of her children, daughters in laws, grandchildren and great grandchildren!!! She was an avid fan of UK, Miami of Ohio, Chicago Bears, Cubs, all the colleges her kids and grandchildren attended and was gearing up to be the biggest fan of Appalachian State sports fan, as her oldest great-grandson had just started college there.

She had a deep love and affection for the Armed Services Branches as her late husband and children represented the Army, Marine Corps, and Navy.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
