Swansboro- Sandra Gayle Benedict, 81, passed away at her home on Sunday, August 10, 2025. She was born September 7, 1943, in Jackson, TN, a daughter of the late Thomas and Francis Applewhite Foust.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6-8pm at Jones Funeral home-Swansboro.

Sandra was a lover of music and fun she was always attending music events with her many friends, but her greatest enjoyment was being surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her children, Thomas Benedict of AR, R.D. Benedict (Stephanie) of Swansboro, Tanya Springfield (Mike) of Cape Carteret, and Derek Benedict (Kathy) of Richlands; grandchildren, Jake, Holly, Riley, Parker, Megan, Davis, Zach, and Nathan; and her great granddaughter, Stella Grace.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ronald Dean Benedict, Sr; and her sister, Beverly.
