CEDAR POINT - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sandra Rhodes Ragan, 76, who passed away Monday, August 11, 2025 at Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport.  The family will celebrate Sandra during a private service.

Mrs. Ragan was born on December 18, 1948, to the late Leta and Calvin Rhodes.  She dedicated 30 years of her life to IBM, where she worked in graphic design, leaving a lasting mark with her dedication and creativity. However, it was her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt that truly defined her life. She brought love, warmth, and joy to all those around her.

Sandra's love story with her husband, Ronnie, began 59 years ago on June 9, 1966.  They enjoyed 55 wonderful years of marriage. Their bond was built on deep affection, and enduring love, and will be cherished forever.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Strange of Raleigh; son, Brian Ragan and his wife, Jamie of Wake Forest; brother-in-law, Mark Ragan and his wife, Terri of Durham; grandchildren, Cole Ragan, Grayson Ragan, Graham Strange and Caroline Strange; as well as her niece, Crystal Berry; and nephew, Randall Ragan.

Sandra's life was one of love, kindness, and generosity. She was truly a charming, yet humble, Southern Belle whose beauty inside was even more astounding than that seen on the outside.  She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
