HUBERT, NC - Sharon Renee Cregger Hill, 66 passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 after nearly a decade long battle with cancer. She was born on August 28, 1959 in Long Beach, California; Sharon was a devoted wife, mother and teacher.

Sharon is remembered by her husband and sons as adventuresome; she was always willing to go on an adventure. Numerous times she coordinated Cub Scout camping trips, white water rafting escapades for the family, and even a long distance road trip to Niagara Falls all because her sons wanted to go. The memories of these experiences are held close to their hearts.

Sharon's career and way of life can be described by three things: patience, inspiring others, and truly caring about those around her. In her many years of teaching, she worked with countless students. She loved all of her students and considered them her "children". Sharon worked hard to help each child discover their strengths. She was their greatest advocate, celebrating each achieved goal. Her strengths and contributions did not end there. She was often found helping other teachers and creating inspirational bulletin boards for the hallways of the school. Sharon remained dedicated to working with the students of Queens Creek Elementary School. Her presence will be deeply missed by students and staff alike.

She is survived by her caring and loving husband of 34 ½ years, Michael Hill; sons- Nicholas Hill (Amelia) of Wilmington, Jonathan Hill (fiancé Hannah) of Wilson, Anthony Hill (Haylee) of Lillington, and Joshua Hill of Hubert; grandchildren, Magnolia and Rowan; mother, Martha Mabe Cregger of Winston Salem; and a brother, Daryl Cregger (Kathy) of Walkertown. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Cregger.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 7,2026 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home-Swansboro. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
