JACKSONVILLE- Shirley JoAnn Sandy, 79, of Jacksonville, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel in with Pastor Jason Willaford officiating. Burial will follow at Onslow Memorial Park in Jacksonville.

Mrs. Sandy and her husband, Wayne, operated Sandy's Auto Electric for 45 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Murphy Albertson and Rovene Hall Albertson; and her brothers, Horace Blizzard, William Blizzard, and Alonza Blizzard.

Survivors include her husband of the home, Wayne L. Sandy, Sr; sons, Wayne L. Sandy, Jr, and Robert K. Sandy and wife Heidi of Jacksonville; brother, Robert F. Blizzard of Beulaville, NC; sisters, Ruby Thigpen and Debra Small of Beulaville, NC; and her grandchildren, Casey Sandy, Jay Sandy, and Ashley Sandy.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
