Stephen Ross Justice Sr

Hampstead, NC — Stephen Ross Justice, Sr., 78, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, surrounded by family. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Steve’s life with a visitation at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Jones Funeral Home in Holly Ridge. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., with graveside services at 2:00 p.m. at Eden’s Family Cemetery on Mill Creek Road. Born on April 13, 1948, in New Hanover County, Steve was the son of Eva Justice Williamson and the late Carl Justice. Steve proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany and served as a crew chief on a Sikorsky H-34 attack helicopter. Following his military service, he dedicated 40 years of his life to Martin Marietta in Castle Hayne, where he worked as a loader and equipment operator. He was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and unwavering commitment. He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Jean L. Justice; his stepdaughters, Sharon Hayes and Shannon Caison, both of Johnston County; his stepson, Eric Thompson of Leland; his mother, Eva Justice Williamson of Hampstead; his brother, David Justice and wife, Kathy, of Hampstead; his nephews, David Justice Jr. and wife, Stacie, and Jesse Justice, both of Hampstead; his daughter-in-law, Paula Justice of Hampstead; and his grandson, Stephen Ross Justice III, “Stevie,” of Atlanta, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Justice, and his beloved son, Stephen Ross Justice Jr., “Buddy.” Steve will be remembered for his years of hard work, and his many hours in the woods with his hunting buddies, his love for his family, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.”
