Jacksonville – Tammie Leigh Parker, 68, passed away at her home on Monday, June 8, 2026.

Tammie grew up in Jacksonville, NC and graduated from Jacksonville Highschool and East Carolina University. She was a nurse who passionately advocated for her patients, working in various hospitals in South Eastern North Carolina, primarily in the Emergency Department, Cardiac Care Unit, and Intensive Care Unit. Tammie was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and cousin who had an extended network of friends and co workers who were like family to her. Tammie relished holidays and making her home a beautiful and welcoming place for friends and family. A devout Christian, she passed away trusting in God's providence and assured of His love.

A celebration of Tammie’s life will be held 11:00 am on Friday June 19, 2026 at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville. The family will receive visitors immediately before the service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

Tammie was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Lois Parker, her brother Jimmy Parker, and her sister and brother in-law Nancy and Lenny Foster. She is survived by her daughters and son in-law, Sarah Fulton and Jessica and Evan Lee, and grandchildren Levi Sanderson and Kayleigh Lee as well as her sister and brother in-law Tricia and Bobby Creel along with many nieces and nephews and cousins. She also leaves behind her beloved Yorkie, Munchkin.
