HUBERT - Thomas Burnell McGirt, 76, of Hubert, North Carolina passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Memorial services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel.

Mr. McGirt was born on February 20, 1948 in Hamlet, North Carolina to the late Burnell McGirt and Barbara Emmanuel McGirt. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Robert McGirt.

He is survived by his wife, LeeAnne (Hall) McGirt; children, Tori Kline (Chuck) of Canon City, CO, Shelly Cahoon (Jeff) of Ayden, NC, Catherine Brown (Mike) of Jacksonville, NC, Kevin McGirt (Christina) of Beaufort, NC and Kristina Bowker (James) of Jacksonville, NC; grandchildren, Payton Kline, Jack Yarbrough, Anna Harris, Ava James, Spencer James, Summerlin McGirt, Benjamin Bowker, Riley Bowker, and Jamie Bowker; great-grandchildren, Baylor and Rylan; sister, Nancy McGirt and many friends who are considered family.

The family will receive friends Saturday morning, prior to the service, from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
