Newport- Thomas “Tom” Edward Mitsock, Jr., 79, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2026, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport. He was born August 25, 1947, in Hazelton, PA, a son to the late Thomas Mitsock, Sr. and Pauline Yurish Mitsock.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Swansboro.

Tom was an engineer and a civil servant who greatly enjoyed his career and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kathy M. Mitsock; children, Damian Mitsock (Jennifer) of Cary and Tina Mitsock (Jeff Pepe) of CT; grandchildren: Logan, Tyler, Morgan, Sophia, Cameron, and Fiona; and siblings, John Mitsock (Sally) of VT and Melanie Post (Jeff) of NJ.
