Holly Ridge – Thomas Ray "Tom" Trott, 74, was born in Maysville on September 17, 1950, and died on February 12,2025 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center in Wilmington.  A celebration of his life is planned for the spring.

Tom retired from Camp Lejeune in 2011 where he worked as an instrument mechanic for 33 years. He was also a 'jack of all trades" guy who helped many people over the years with his amazing skills.

Tom was preceded in death by; his parents, Leroy Trott and Catherine Humphrey Trott and one son Michael Leroy Trott.

Tom is survived by his wife; Nancy Azzarano Trott; one son, Thomas Ray Trott Jr. of Wilmington; one sister Teresa Trott Stilley of New Bern; Daughters in Law, Ashley and Jessica; five grandchildren, Kamren Trott, Sophie Trott, Adelynn Trott, Karter Trott and Kinsley Trott.

He loved spending time with his grandchildren who were the light of his life. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. He also loved camping, RVing and travelling with his beloved wife Nancy.

In most recent years he pursued a woodworking hobby and created many beautiful bowls and other wood crafts. He was affectionately known as 'Old Tom'. He always engraved 'Old Tom' on his creations.

He also enjoyed cooking on a wood fire and perfected his biscuit making skills.

He will be so very much missed by his wife and loving family and friends.
