SNEADS FERRY - Thurman Wesley Hartsfield, a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, and partner passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024 in his hometown of Sneads Ferry, NC. A small private family gathering for interment will take place at the Hansley Cemetery in Sneads Ferry where Thurman will be laid to rest alongside loved ones who have gone before him.
He was born on July 31, 1940, to Sadie Hansley Hartsfield and Raymond Andrew Hartsfield.
Thurman is survived by his loving family: Brother Richard Hartsfield and wife Theresa; Longtime Partner Barbara Warren; Daughter Kim Hartsfield and partner Jody Mueller; Daughter Tiffany Hartsfield LeDoux; Stepdaughter Michele Bunce and husband Pat; stepdaughter Chrissy Warren Mohn and husband Danny; Grandson Cory Hartsfield and wife Cody; Grandson Michael Cunningham; Granddaughter Brianna Hartsfield Loria and husband Adan; Grandson Austin LeDoux. He also leaves behind eleven great-grandchildren as well as numerous other relatives who will cherish his memory forever.
He was preceded in death by his mother Sadie Hansley Hartsfield, father Raymond Andrew Hartsfield, sister Nancy Hartsfield Aleksic, and brother Raymond Hartsfield Jr., leaving behind a legacy that will be remembered for generations to come.
Thurman graduated from Dixon High School in 1958 and enlisted in the US Army to serve for 3 years before embarking on a successful career at DuPont where he worked tirelessly until retirement. His dedication to providing for his family knew no bounds. In addition to being an accomplished professional, Thurman found solace in the simple pleasures of life. He had an unwavering love for the outdoors - spending countless hours fishing or enjoying family cookouts with those closest to him. His warm smile could light up any room while his laughter filled hearts with joy.
The loss of Thurman Hartsfield has left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know him. His kindness knew no bounds while his wisdom provided guidance during times of need. The world is undoubtedly darker without him but brighter because he graced it with love throughout his lifetime. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family requests one of the most valuable gifts you could give; to spend more time with your loved ones.
