JACKSONVILLE  -  Valarie Marlene Dugan, 67, of Jacksonville, went home to be with Lord on Saturday, January 11, 2025.  Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2025 PM at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service

Mrs. Dugan  was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Catherine Swords, and eight brothers Robert, Jim, Richard, Ralph, Steve, and the twins Marvin and Melvin; four sisters, Phyllis, Sheila, Lisa and Twins.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Dugan of Jacksonville; daughter, Lisa C Szczepek and her husband, Allen Szczepek of Beaufort, SC; son, Sammy D Baker and his wife, Rania Baker of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Khristian Baker, Cameron Baker, Gavin Baker, McKenzie Baker,  Dimitrios Baker, Sophia Baker, Allen Szczepek, III, Anthony Szczepek, Ian Szczepek and Piper Szczepek; great-grandchild, Nathaniel Szczepek; sisters, Wanda Caudill, Sue Lamblin, Vickie Chaffin, Charrie Arthur and Cindy Nelson; and brothers, Bud and Dan Swords.
