Hubert- Walter Joseph Weglinski, Jr., 89, passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 27,2025 with his family by his side. He was born May 6,1936 in Fairview, NJ a son of the late Walter Joseph weglinski, Sr. and Mary Nieselowski Weglinski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am Monday, June 2,2025 at St. Mildred Catholic Church with Father Dave Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Seaside Memorial Park in Swansboro.
Walter spent 8 years in the United States Air Force as part of the Strategic Air Command as a mechanic on the B47 Jet Bombers in the 19th Bomb Wing. After his military service he became a self-employed dock builder and marina owner. His deep love for the water was a constant throughout his life, both in work and in retirement. One of his proudest adventures was sailing his 46-foot motor sailor from Connecticut to the Caribbean. Later in life he cherished spending time fishing and sharing his passion for the sea with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Weglinski of Hubert; daughter, Wendy Gartner (Thomas) of Emerald Isle; son, Warren Weglinski (Nadine) of Wharton, NJ; daughter-in-law, Donna Weglinski of Lake Hopatcong, NJ; grandchildren, Walter Weglinski, IV, Heather Dickson, Steve Weglinski, Nicholas Gartner, Alexandria Gartner, and Jacqueline Gartner; great grandchildren, Brandon, Autumn, and Jaden; and sister, Dorothy.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Walter Weglinski, III and Wayne Weglinski; and a sister, Mary Koonz.
