Hubert- Wayne Morris Blackman, 71, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern. He was born October 8, 1953, in Ithica, NY a son of the late George and Esther Grover Blackman.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Wayne faithfully served his country in the US Air Force and was a taxi driver who enjoyed making people smile and get home safe, but his greatest joy was being surrounded by his family and friends.

He is survived by daughters, Kim Jaquin of Jacksonville and Crystal Harshman of OK; stepdaughter, Jamie Harden of PA; eight grandchildren; and siblings, Ken Blackman of VA, Richard Blackman of PA, and Diane Freelove of ME.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kristen Blackman and a son, Michael Blackman.
